Learn about the connections among water resources and water engineering in one of the most water scares nations in the world, and be ready to be amazed. Interact with Jordanian students, scientists, and engineers. Visit desalination plants on the Dead Sea. Hike through water ravines. Tour wastewater treatment plants designed to reuse water. View first-hand archeological sites with ancient water infrastructure.

This course is co-sponsored by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences. It led by UW faculty and counts as 6 credits toward your UW degree. Both graduate and undergraduate options available. All academic ranks – all majors welcome.

During the information session, you will have opportunity to meet the primary UW faculty instructor, who has been leading this study abroad program since 2012.

We have three professionals in the climate and environmental field as our panelists, who will be speaking to students and young professionals. Our panelists will share their career journeys, and how they are connected to the climate and environmental spaces. This will also be a space to hear about the NextGen Internship program at King County, and the CleanTech Alliance Emerging Professionals Network.
