Dear Students,

This is for 1st and 2nd year graduate students and undergraduate students in social science and STEM fields to know about the upcoming information sessions and workshops for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP). 

UPCOMING SESSIONS:

  • NSF GRFP PERSONAL STATEMENT PEER REVIEW WORKSHOP, Wednesday, October 02, 4:30-6:00 pm PST. Register for the 10/02/2023 workshop.

The NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION GRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP (NSF GRFP) is awarded to approximately 2,000 students in the U.S. per year for research-based graduate study in social science, science and engineering fields.

HOW MUCH: A $37,000 annual stipend and full cost of tuition and fees for 3 years.  Continue reading

The Grand Challenges Impact Lab (GCIL) is an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge to solving real-world Grand Challenge problems. GCIL students work in teams, with a local organization, during winter quarter (10 weeks; UW Study Abroad) in Bangalore, India.

Are you interested in study, research, or internship opportunities in Germany?

Is there German art, technology, innovation, politics, business, science, etc. that you want to learn more about?

Do you want to improve your German language skills?

Are you trying to expand your transatlantic network into Germany?


The DAAD scholarships provide opportunities to gain international academic, internship and research experiences in Germany. Students and graduates of American universities, with all citizenships, are eligible for these programs! Join this information session to hear from Hanni Geist, DAAD Senior Manager, to learn more about the application components and timeline, as well as the variety of DAAD programs open to you!

 

For undergraduates and graduates, the DAAD provides financial support to over 120,000 highly qualified students and faculty for international research and study each year. There are scholarship opportunities for students from all fields interested in participating in study, research, or internship programs in Germany.

Dear CEE grad & undergrad students,

Grand Challenges Impact Lab (GCIL) is recruiting students for Study Abroad in India in Winter 2025. Please apply!

GCIL-India is a 10-week hands-on project-based learning laboratory focused on Grand Challenges, engineering problem-solving, and social innovation. During Winter quarter, students live in Bangalore and work in teams with a local organization on innovation for health, environmental, or social challenges.

GCIL is open to junior and senior undergraduate students and graduate students. GCIL includes a 1-credit Autumn-quarter orientation course in Seattle, and then a 10-week, 15-credit Winter-quarter course (January 1 – March 15, 2025) in Bangalore, India. Applications are due mid- Spring Quarter (approx. May 15). GCIL counts towards capstone and other graduation requirements. Continue reading

2. Prototype Funding – Deadline: January 11

Each year student teams can receive up to $2,500 to help create a physical model, object, device, wireframe etc. for their idea. Teams must commit to applying for the 2024 Hollomon Health Innovation Challenge and/or the 2024 Alaska Airlines Environmental Innovation Challenge. Funding is open to WA-based college students working on an idea in a technical, environmental, medical, consumer, digital, or another field. Some other restrictions apply.
