Your WE Rise Program will again facilitate the WE Rise Professional Mentoring Program (PMP). Mentoring can help women in STEM optimize their academic and career options. Mentoring allows participants to develop close relationships with mentors while enhancing mentees’ engineering identity and self-efficacy for conducting research and contributing to a more substantial interest in and commitment to having a STEM career of your desire. The application to join the Winter Quarter 2025 cohort is now open.

Lunch and Learns: Network with Companies Before the Career Fair!

Hi, everyone!

If you’re looking for a job or internship, now is the time to research companies and prepare for the career fair! To explore careers in civil and environmental engineering, we highly recommend attending ASCE’s Lunch and Learn series. We bring in recruiters and engineers from a variety of organizations and give you an opportunity to hear their experiences and ask them questions. As a bonus, there is always free food!

HNTB Networking Night at UW (March 27)

Hi everyone,

Get ready for an evening of networking with young professionals (and UW alumni) and free food! HNTB will be hosting a networking night with students on Wednesday March 27th, 5-6:30pm, in MOR 230. HNTB will be providing food and students will have the opportunity to engage in open conversation with representatives. Bring some questions, your resume (if you want), and a great attitude! We will have some guiding conversation topics to facilitate, but feel free to chat with us about anything.

HNTB is a transportation engineering-focused firm that works on large projects all over the country. Our Bellevue office has departments in the following civil disciplines: Aviation, Bridge/Structures, Traffic/ITS, Transit Rail, Transportation, and Water Resources.

Next Gen is a professional development program of New Buildings Institute for undergraduate students, designed to foster the next generation of diverse buildings industry leaders, and in doing so, bolster inclusivity in the buildings industry at large. Over the course of the program, students will work with each other as part of a Next Gen cohort and have the opportunity for advanced learning, resume building, one-on-one mentorship, networking, the opportunity to attend the 2024 Getting to Zero Forum, and more. WAVE Program – PNCWA

Students,

The WAVE Program, within the Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association (PNCWA), focuses on engaging students and emerging professionals from diverse backgrounds in the water industry.

WAVE members will participate in a 5-part workshop series and then attend and present at the 2024 PNCWA Annual Conference in Boise, ID on Sept. 8-11, 2024.   

We are looking for applicants who are emerging professionals (<2 years of experience in the water industry), undergraduate, or graduate students interested in pursuing a career in the water industry. We would like to accept a diverse cohort of engineers, planners, scientists, operators, apprentices, communicators, and more!
