Kiewit Construction Tour of the Federal Way Light Rail Extension Project Invite

Hi folks,

I want to personally invite you, as students, to a go see construction of the light rail expansion project near Federal Way next month. This is hosted by Kiewit, a loyal employer of civil engineering graduates, and will focus on bridges they are building in the Star Lake area of the project including a cast-in-place concrete segmental balanced cantilever bridge (say that three times fast) over a wetland. This is a great opportunity that does not come around very often.

Basic details:

What: Kiewit Federal Way Extension Project (light rail) – we will tour their balanced cantilever bridge construction + more

When: Friday, March 1st from 10:30 to 2:00

Where: meet at More Hall, we will take a charter bus down and back. The actual project is just north of Federal Way
