As part of our National Engineers Week programming, UW is excited to revive its partnership with the Puget Sound Engineering Council member groups on its 2024 “Ask-Connect-Expand” (ACE) mentoring event, to be held from 5:00 – 6:30pm on Thursday, February 22 in the HUB Ballrooms on our Seattle campus.

Local organizations & companies will promote their groups as well as connect with our students in an informal manner about post-UW life. You’ll have the opportunity to “speed-date” with professionals sharing their career experience & answering your questions.

Student Scholarship and Travel Opportunity

I wanted to share a great scholarship opportunity for you to attend the 2024 North American Tunneling Conference (NAT) this coming summer (June 23-26) in Nashville, TN. This is an expenses paid opportunity for students to network with the industry and learn about the current state of practice.

I was awarded one of these scholarships back in 2017 while I was completing my Geotechnical Engineering Masters at UW and it was a great benefit to me moving forward with my career. They covered all of my registration, lodging and travel expenses. I made contacts at that conference that I remain in contact with to this day. Applications are due by April 15, 2024.
