Consider attending the U.S. Society on Dams Career Fair and Student Conference Experience April 23 at the Westin, Downtown Seattle, which will host this year’s U.S. national conference on dams. Dams are highly multidisciplinary and the dam industry is eager to hire UW CEE students interested in Hydrology and Hydrodynamics, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, etc. Please see the attached flyer for more details and a link to register for the event.

Dear CEE grad & undergrad students,

Grand Challenges Impact Lab (GCIL) is recruiting students for Study Abroad in India in Winter 2025. Please apply!

GCIL-India is a 10-week hands-on project-based learning laboratory focused on Grand Challenges, engineering problem-solving, and social innovation. During Winter quarter, students live in Bangalore and work in teams with a local organization on innovation for health, environmental, or social challenges.

GCIL is open to junior and senior undergraduate students and graduate students. GCIL includes a 1-credit Autumn-quarter orientation course in Seattle, and then a 10-week, 15-credit Winter-quarter course (January 1 – March 15, 2025) in Bangalore, India. Applications are due mid- Spring Quarter (approx. May 15). GCIL counts towards capstone and other graduation requirements. Continue reading
