CEE Water/Environmental Seminar this Thursday, February 22 at 3:30 in More Hall 225

Hi CEE community,

Please join us this Thursday, February 22 at 3:30 in More Hall room 225 for this week’s water seminar where Dr. Katya Cherukumilli, assistant professor within UW’s  Human Centered Design & Engineering program, will present on the different strategies for expanding access to safe drinking water. Please see her talk title and a brief description below:

Expanding equitable access to safe drinking water through user-centered technology design and deployment

Despite centuries of scientific advancements in water treatment, access to safe drinking water is not universal because current methods to monitor and remediate contaminants are cost-prohibitive, culturally inappropriate, cumbersome, or too complex to operate and maintain long-term. This seminar will overview research focused on defining, designing, and deploying safe water solutions in vastly different settings, ranging from UW College of Engineering buildings to rural healthcare facilities in Kenya.

See you all Thursday!
