When are courses and instructors evaluated?
On the last day of each block, students will be asked to complete a comprehensive end-of-block evaluation, consisting of quantitative and qualitative items.
Instructors may be evaluated mid-block (for the longer blocks such as MBB & CPR), or at the end of the block. All instructors entered in Opal will be included on the evaluation, regardless of how many sessions/hours they taught in the block. If the instructor teaches their last session on or prior to the mid-block cutoff date, they will be evaluated mid-block only. If an instructor is teaching more sessions after the mid-block evaluation, then that instructor will only be evaluated at the end of the block.
Note: Students will only have the opportunity to evaluate each instructor and are not required to submit instructor evaluations, so some instructors may receive more feedback than others.
Who has access to evaluation results?
End of block evaluation results can only be accessed by site and block leads, and select administrative personnel. It is at the discretion of the site leads to distribute these evaluations as necessary.
Instructor evaluations can be viewed by site and block leads, select administrative personnel, and for individual instructor evaluations, only those instructors being evaluated. Instructors will not be able to view the evaluation results of other instructors.
