The Data and Reporting Services team operates in the Academic Affairs DataMart (AADM), creates and maintains reports on the AADM reporting platform, and provides additional services using Microsoft reporting tools and Excel.
Below is a list of services provided to support your data needs.
♦ Get Access to AADM Reports
Request setup of user access to AADM reports and permissions.
Obtain This Service:
- Supervisor emails aadm@uw.edu with users First Name, Last Name, NetID, Role, and access needed.
Features & Options:
- Access to AADM reporting platform
- Access to Academic Affairs education and assessment data
- Access to Deskside Excel reports
Eligibility:
- Open to all Academic, Rural and Regional Affairs (ARRA) staff; Medical Evaluation & Education (MEE) staff; and School of Medicine Department Clerkship Directors and Administrators.
New permissions may be reviewed for approval by Education Data Governance Committee (EDGC).
♦ Office Hours
Schedule time to discuss data questions or issues. This service offers time to discuss questions about data, a data issue, a data need, or simple how-to in Excel. Office hours are provided in 30-minute increments during pre-set times.

♦ Ad-Hoc Report request
Request a one-time report from AADM tables.
Obtain This Service:
- Email aadm@uw.edu with report requirements, timeline, and purpose.
Features & Options:
- Reports in Excel, PDF, Word, or Summary format
- Custom formatting available
Eligibility:
- Open to ARRA staff, MEE staff, Clerkship Directors and Administrators, and Students.

♦ Deskside Report request
Create a self-service, refreshable Excel report.
Obtain This Service:
- Email aadm@uw.edu with report requirements, timeline, and purpose.
Features & Options:
- Include custom reporting tables
- Setup Excel data connections
Eligibility:
- Open to ARRA staff, MEE staff, Clerkship Directors and Administrators, and Students that have access to the requested data.
Eligibility may be reviewed for approval by Education Data Governance Committee (EDGC).
♦ Dashboard/Published Report Request
Design and develop a standing report on AADM portal.
Obtain This Service:
- Schedule an intake meeting via aadm@uw.edu
During the meeting you will review the scope and timeline for the work. Work will be added to the next available team member as sprint schedule allows.
Project request: After the meeting a project request will be drafted that defines the scope, purpose, and audience for your request. Your request will be added to the development prioritization queue to be assigned.
Eligibility:
- Open to ARRA staff, MEE staff, Clerkship Directors and Administrators, and Students.
Eligibility may be reviewed for approval by Education Data Governance Committee (EDGC).
♦ Audit Data
Audit data from AADM tables or user-provided data.
Obtain This Service:
- Email aadm@uw.edu with audit request and timeline.
A follow up meeting may be scheduled depending on the complexity of the request. Work will be added to the next available team member as sprint schedule allows.

- Open to ARRA staff, MEE staff, Clerkship Directors and Administrators, and Students that have access to the requested data.
♦ Format and Transform Data
Combine, format, and structure data into a single Excel source. This does not cover loading data into AADM.

♦ Add a new Data Source to AADM
Identify, format and load a flat file (Excel, CSV, or SharePoint list) data source into AADM.

♦ Develop a new API Data Source
This service offers to develop an API connection to an existing UW School of Medicine associated application.

During the meeting you will review the scope and timeline for the work.
Work will be discussed with DomIT and may require a formal project request with DomIT through the annual project intake process.

♦ Business Process Review
Review current business process for data implementation and recommendation.

♦ Microsoft Analytics Suite Training
This service offers training to users on how to manipulate data in the Microsoft Analytics Suite. This includes:
- Excel Basics
- Excel Look ups
- Power Query
- Power Pivot
- Power BI (Basic)
Obtain This Service:
- Supervisor requests training via aadm@uw.edu
A supervisor must request training for staff wishing to learn new analytics skills. Training will be given on a preset subject matter and dates provided quarterly.
Eligibility:
- Open to ARRA and MEE staff, with support of supervisor. Other audiences will be considered on an ad-hoc basis.
